Sheikh Rasel Bridge

Sometimes a small bridge plays a huge role in the path of economic development. One such bridge is the Sheikh Rasel Bridge over the Shivbaria (Khapra Bhanga) river in the Alipore area from Mahipur in Kuakata in Patuakhali district. Just as the Pigeon Seaport is being built around the new economic zone in the south, which will make the country's export trade faster, easier and more profitable, the bridge on the main road from Patuakhali to Kuakata continues to play a significant role in developing tourism and domestic trade. The length of the bridge is 408.38 meters and the width is 10.25 meters. This bridge is located in Narail district of Bangladesh.

According to Narail LGED sources, the implementation of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) cost Tk 29.11 crore at the city's old ferry terminal. Construction of the Sheikh Rasel Bridge began on April 20, 2015. The construction period was till June 2017. The bridge is much like a flyover, so the bridge has beautified Narail.

The contractor MBEL-UDC JB was in charge of the construction of the bridge. The construction work of the bridge was completed ahead of schedule due to the sincere efforts of the contractor. The Sheikh Rasal Bridge was opened to the public on March 26, 2017.

The Sheikh Rasel Bridge over the Chitra River in Narail is a long way from here. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Sheikh Rasel Bridge.

শেখ রাসেল সেতু

অর্থনৈতিক উন্নয়নের পথে কখনও কখনও ছোট্ট একটি সেতু ব্যাপক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করে থাকে। পটুয়াখালী জেলার কুয়াকাটায় মহিপুর থেকে আলিপুর এলাকায় অবস্থিত শিববাড়িয়া ( খাপড়া ভাঙ্গা ) নদীর উপর নির্মিত শেখ রাসেল সেতু তেমনি একটি সেতু। দক্ষিণাঞ্চলে নতুন ইকোনমিক জোনকে কেন্দ্র করে যেমন পায়রা সমুদ্র বন্দর নির্মিত হচ্ছে, যা দেশের রপ্তানি বাণিজ্যকে আরো দ্রুততর সহজ ও লাভজনক করবে, তেমনি পটুয়াখালী থেকে কুয়াকাটা যাওয়ার মেইন সড়কে তৈরি এই সেতু দেশের পর্যটন ও অভ্যন্তরীণ ব্যবসা - বানিজ্য বিকাশে বিশেষ ভূমিকা পালন করে চলেছে। সেতুর দৈর্ঘ্য ৪০৮.৩৬  মিটার এবং প্রস্থ ১০.২৫ মিটার। এই সেতুটি বাংলাদেশের নড়াইল জেলাই অবস্থিত।

নড়াইল এলজিইডি সূত্রে জানা গেছে, স্থানীয় সরকার প্রকৌশল অধিদপ্তরের (এলজিইডি) বাস্তবায়নে শহরের পুরাতন ফেরিঘাটে ২৯ কোটি ১১ লাখ টাকা ব্যয়ে হয়। শেখ রাসেল সেতুর নির্মাণ কাজ শুরু হয়েছে ২০১৫ সালের ২০ এপ্রিল। নির্মাণের সময়সীমা ছিল ২০১৭ সালের জুন পর্যন্ত। সেতুটি অনেকটাই ফ্লাইওভারের মতো হওয়ায় সেতুটি নড়াইলের শোভাবর্ধন করেছে।

সেতুটি নির্মাণের দায়িত্বে ছিলেন ঠিকাদারি প্রতিষ্ঠান এমবিইএল-ইউডিসি জেবি। ঠিকাদারি প্রতিষ্ঠানের আন্তরিক চেষ্টায় দ্রুত গতিতে চলায় সেতুটির নির্মাণ কাজ নির্ধারিত সময়ের আগেই সম্পন্ন হয়। ২০১৭ সালের ২৬ মার্চ জনসাধারণের জন্য সেতুটি উন্মুক্ত করা হয়।

নড়াইলে চিত্রা নদীর ওপর নির্মিত শেখ রাসেল সেতু   অত্র এলাকার দীর্ঘ্য দিনের আসা। শেখ রাসেল ‍সেতুটি উদ্বোধন করেছেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা।
