Instructive Short Story

A poor man lived in a village in Baghdad. One day the man wanted to go to the king's court and meet him. The rule of the time was to take some gifts to meet the king. So that the king may be pleased and give him a kind look. The man consulted with his wife before leaving the house. I am going to the king's court. What is not a gift for him now?

The man lived in a small village. They had no news of the world. The poor man's wife was a very intelligent and religious man. His wife advised him to take the water in the jug of our house. Where will the people of the royal court get such cool and sweet water?

The man also thought his wife's words logical and went to the king's court with the water. At that time there was no era of cars and planes. The man left on foot with a pitcher on his head for the royal court. After a long journey, dust and sand accumulated on the pitcher and the water inside became dirty and smelly.

The simple man of the poor village, noticing this, came to the royal court and presented the pitcher to the caliph. Khalifa wanted to know what is in it. The poor man said, I have brought cold and sweet water from my pond for the lord. I thought, where will you get such water in your court? Please accept it.

Khalifa said, well remove the lid, let's see! The lid was removed, the water smelled. The caliph thought that the poor people had done so with pure love. It would not be right to hurt his mind. So the caliph ordered the man to fill the jug and give it to Ashraf.

The poor man in Baghdad was also very happy. When the man asked permission to return from the royal court, the caliph told a Soldier to lead him some distance, and listen, to take him along the banks of the Tigris.

After coming some distance, seeing the thick water of Dajla, the man of the village said what is there? The Soldier said, it is a river. Let's see the water of the river. Going to the river, the villager saw the clear water of the river and drank some. And began to think alas! Such beautiful water near the Caliph's court and I brought dirty water for him. Then the caliph took my water, just for the sake of his kindness and generosity! Besides, the poor farmers cannot think of any reason. I had no need for water. In addition, Ashraf filled my jug and gave it to me.

 

The lesson is that,

Allama Jalal Uddin Rumi (RA) used to say after hearing this incident, our worship is just like that. Which is of no use to Allah. He is not dependent on our worship, and our worship is not as clear and unadulterated as the water in that person's pitcher, but it is fragrant. But just because we love God, we worship Him, and God replaces him with His mercy.

May Allah grant us all the Tawfiq to perform his worship in a beautiful way "AMIN".

Note: One day a Birdhami man and a Muslim man are sitting together and they are talking. Rajman Mubarak was running then. Suddenly a son of a Birdhami man came and was eating something in front of a Muslim fasting person. Then the Birdhami man severely beat his son and told him not to eat in front of the fasting person. That night the Muslim dreamed that the people of Birdhami were wandering in Paradise. Then the Muslim asked Allah how he entered Paradise. The answer was that he had honored Rosa one day in the world. He has been given Paradise as his reward. "The lesson is that the reward of fasting will be given by Allah Himself to the fasting person."

শিক্ষণীয় ছোট গল্প

বাগদাদের এক গ্রামে এক গরীব লোক বাস করতেন। এক দিন লোকটির ইচ্ছা হলো বাদশার দরবারে গিয়ে তাঁর সাথে সাক্ষাত করবে। তখনকার যুগের নিয়ম ছিলো বাদশাহের সাথে দেখা করতে গেলে কিছু হাদিয়া নিয়ে যাওয়া। যাতে বাদশাহ খুশী হয়ে তার উপর সদয় দৃষ্টি দেন। লোকটি বাড়ি থেকে বের হওয়ার আগে তার স্ত্রীর সাথে পরামর্শ করলো আমি তো বাদশার দরবারে যাচ্ছি এখন তাঁর জন্য উপহার হিসেবে কি নেই ?

লোকটির বসবাস ছিল ছোট্ট একটা গ্রামে। দুনিয়ার কোন খবরই তাদের ছিলো না। গরীব লোকটির স্ত্রী ছিল খুব বুদ্ধি সম্পন্ন ও ধর্ম সচেতন মানুষ। তার স্ত্রী তাকে পরামর্শ দিয়ে বললো আমাদের ঘরের কলসিতে যে পানি আছে সেটা নিয়ে যাও তুমি। রাজ দরবারের লোকজন এমন শীতল এবং মিষ্টি পানি পাবে কোথায় ?

লোকটিও তার স্ত্রীর কথা যৌক্তিক মনে করে ঐ পানি নিয়েই রাজার দরবারের দিকে রওয়ানা দিল। সেই সময় তো গাড়ি আর প্লেনের যুগ ছিলোনা। লোকটি পায়ে হেঁটেই কলসি মাথায় নিয়ে রওয়ানা হলো রাজ দরবারের উদ্দেশ্যে। দীর্ঘ পথ পাড়ি দিতে গিয়ে কলসের উপর ধুলাবালি জমে গেল এবং ভিতরের পানিতে ময়লা জমে গেলো আর দূর্গন্ধময় হয়ে গেল।

বেচারা গ্রামের অতি সহজ সরল লোক, এসব খেয়াল না করেই রাজ দরবারে উপস্থিত হয়ে খলিফার সামনে কলসি পেশ করলো। খলিফা জানতে চাইলেন এতে কি আছে ? গরীব লোকটি বলল, হুজুরের জন্য আমার পুকুরের ঠান্ডা এবং মিঠা পানি এনেছি। ভাবলাম আপনার দরবারে এমন পানি কোথায় পাবেন ? দয়া করে এটা কবুল করুন।

খলিফা বললেন, আচ্ছা ঢাকনা সরাও তো, দেখি ! ঢাকনা সরানো হল, পানি গন্ধ হয়ে গেছে। খলিফা ভাবলেন, বেচারা গরীব মানুষ খাঁটি ভালবাসা নিয়ে এমন করেছে। তার মনে কষ্ট দেয়া ঠিক হবে না। তাই খলিফা লোকটির কলস ভরে আশরাফি দিতে নির্দেশ দিলেন।

বাগদাদের গরীব লোকটিও খুব খুশি হলো। লোকটি যখন রাজ দরবার থেকে ফিরে যাওয়ার অনুমতি চাইলো তখন খলিফা, এক সিপাহীকে বললেন তাকে কিছুদূর এগিয়ে দিয়ে এসো, আর শোন, তাকে দজলা নদীর তীর দিয়ে নিয়ে যাবে।

কিছুদূর আসার পর দজলার অথৈ পানি দেখে গ্রামের লোকটি বললো ওখানে কি ? সিপাহী বলল, ওটা নদী। চলো নদীর পানি দেখবে চলো। নদীর কাছে গিয়ে গ্রাম্য লোকটি নদীর স্বচ্ছ সুন্দর পানি দেখলো এবং কিছুটা পান করল। আর ভাবতে শুরু করলো হায় ! খলিফার দরবারের কাছে এত সুন্দর পানি আর আমি তার জন্য ময়লা পানি এনেছিলাম। তাহলে খলিফা আমার পানি গ্রহণ করেছে, শুধু তার দয়া আর উদারতার খাতিরে ! এছাড়া কোন কারণ গরীব কৃষক ভাবতে পারছেনা। আমার পানির তার কোন প্রয়োজনই ছিলোনা। উপরন্তু আমার কলসি ভরে আশরাফি দিয়ে দিলেন।

শিক্ষণীয় এটাই যে,

আল্লামা জালাল উদ্দিন রুমী (রহঃ) প্রায়ই এই ঘটনা শুনিয়ে বলতেন, আমাদের ইবাদত গুলিও ঠিক এমনি। যা আল্লাহর কোন কাজেই আসেনা। তিনি আমাদের ইবাদতের মুখাপেক্ষী নন এবং আমাদের ইবাদত ও ঐ লোকের কলসির পানির মত স্বচ্ছ ও নির্ভেজাল নয়, বরং তা দুর্গন্ধ যুক্ত। কিন্তু শুধমাত্র আল্লাহর প্রতি ভালবাসার কারণে আমরা সেই ইবাদত করে থাকি বলে, আল্লাহ আপন দয়ায় তার বদলী দিয়ে থাকেন।

আল্লাহ আমাদের সকলকে তার ইবাদত সুন্দর ভাবে আমল করার তাউফিক দান করুন ‘‘আমিন‘’।

নোটঃ একদিন এক বির্ধমী লোক ও একজন মুসলিম ব্যক্তি একসাথে বসে আছে এবং তারা কথা বলছে। তখন চলছিল রজমান মোবারক। হঠাৎ বির্ধমী লোকের একটি ছেলে এসে, মুসলিম রোজাদার ব্যক্তির সামনে কিছু খাচ্ছিল। তখন বির্ধমী লোক তার ছেলেটিকে প্রচন্ড মারধোর করলো এবং বললো রোজাদার ব্যক্তির সামনে খেতে হয় না। সেই রাতে মুসলিম ব্যক্তি স্বপ্নে দেখলো যে, বির্ধমী লোক জান্নাতে ঘুরে বেড়াচ্ছে। তখন মুসলিম ব্যক্তি আল্লাহ্কে জিঙ্গাসা করলো, সে কিভাবে জান্নাতে প্রবেশ করলো আল্লাহ্। জবাবে আসলো, সে পৃথিবীতে কোন একদিন রোজাকে সম্মান করেছিল। তার পুরুষ্কার স্বরুপ তাকে জান্নাত প্রদান করা হয়েছে। ‘‘শিক্ষণীয় এই যে, রোজার পুরুষ্কার আল্লাহ্ নিজ হতে প্রদান করবে রোজাদার ব্যক্তিকে ’’।
